FAQ
1 - Staking
1.1 What happens if I do not put PEPITA in a vault?
Your PEPITA will start to debase from the moment you purchase them - for example if the debase rate is 7% per day, you will own 7% less PEPITA the day after purchase. For this reason, it is highly recommended you put your PEPITA in a vault as soon as possible. Please read the tokenomics page for more details on the current debase rate(s).
1.2 Big protec vs Smol protec. Which one should I go for?
If you have got the cash, Big protec is usually preferable. You will need to deposit an equal amount of both $PEPITA and $ETH, whereas Smol protec only requires $PEPITA.
1.3 Will putting in more money increase the length of my lock period?
Whenever you make a deposit into a vault, the lock timer will reset, so if you already have PEPITA locked in a vault and deposit more into the same vault, the timer will reset.
1.4 When I withdraw from Big or Smol, I have less PEPITA than when I deposited - why is this?
PEPITA in Big and Smol will continue to debase despite being in a vault, so when you withdraw there may be less PEPITA in the vault. Because the PEPITA are in a vault, you will be accumulating PEPITAS in the form of rewards, which may be greater than the number of PEPITA lost to debase, depending on the current APR. Read the tokenomics page and FAQ section for up-to-date numbers on debase rate etc.
1.5 Do the rewards in vaults get debased too?
Rewards will only start to debase after you claim them; they are fully protected until then.
1.6 Will making a claim extend my lock period?
Whenever you claim rewards, the lock timer will reset.
1.7 What happens when the locking period ends for a vault?
Nothing changes at the end of the locking period, it simply means you can withdraw from the vault when you like. For example, if you are in Full protec your PEPITA will remain fully protected after the locking period ends. You do not need to re-stake in order to keep the PEPITA in a vault.
2 - Tokenomics
2.1 Will I gain PEPITA in Smol protec?
In Smol protec, your PEPITA are exposed to debase, which means you need to deduct the debase rate from the APR % shown on the website, to calculate the net gain/loss of PEPITA. If the debase rate is 7% per day, this is equivalent to 7 * 365 = 2555% per year, which means you will be accumulating more EGGS from rewards if the Smol APR > 2555.
2.2 Will I gain PEPITA in Big protec?
To use Big protec, you must first provide liquidity, so 50% of the value being locked in the vault is PEPITA, and the other 50% is ETH. The EGGS you put in liquidity will continue to debase at the daily rate, but as they only make up 50% of the total value you locked in LP, the effect of debase on your LP is 1/2 the daily rate. This means if the daily debase rate is 7%, then your LP value will decrease by 3.5% due to debase. Hence, you will be accumulating more EGGS from rewards if the Big APR > 1277.
2.3 Will the value of PEPITA go up or down due to the debase?
If no one is selling then the value of PEPITA will remain flat even if there is debase and supply decreases. How come this is true? Remember PEPITA in LP also get debased, which means there will be less PEPITA but the same amount of ETH. The debase of your PEPITA is directly proportional to the total supply debase. For example, if the total supply is 1000 PEPITA and you have 100 PEPITA, if the total supply becomes 100 PEPITA, your 100 PEPITA will become 10 PEPITA.
2.4 Big vault example
Pepita scenario assuming no rewards:
Total supply: 100 PEPITA
20 PEPITA in LP paired with 20 ETH
1 PEPITA = 1 ETH
The rest staked in smol protec vault (80 PEPITA)
Assuming no one buys or sells and supply debases by 50% this happens:
Total supply: 50 PEPITA
10 PEPITA in LP paired with 20 ETH
1 PEPITA = 2 ETH (now worth more in ETH)
The rest staked in smol protec vault (40 PEPITA)
3 - Rug-proofing
3.1 Can the contracts change at any time?
Dev has put 3-day timelocks on the contracts, so if any changes are made there must be a 3 day wait period before they can be executed. This means there cannot be any quick changes to rug the community.
3.2 Do the developers/team own a large proportion of tokens?
No - initial PEPITA tokens were fairly distributed among the community. Please read the tokenomics page for more details.
3.3 I just checked my wallet and I have less Pepita than before, without any on-chain txns, am I being hacked?
No - the PEPITA token contract is written to debase during every block, so if you do not put your Pepitas in a vault your Pepitas will start to dissappear without any on-chain transactions.
